Hope rolls down the darkest alleys of uncertainty and takes people to new and surprising places. Is this commercial about hope or hype?
The commercial moved me and made me see all the hard work that must not be forgotten, even though things have ended badly. But that’s hope’s duty, to be the phoenix and resurrect out of deathly ashes. A bail-out might be shameful, but I think that’s what the commercial tries to overcome. It attempts to restore pride so people get back to honest work and back to believing that they can see new glory days. After all, what is the alternative? Empty streets. No cars. No motion. No energy.
side note: I saw a spark of hope in the Detroit Lions and I’m rooting for them next year. The New Orleans Saints got people’s hopes up after hurricane Katrina. Maybe the Lions can roar and boost people’s pride again.
