The Bible says we are saved by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony(Rev. 12:11). What is it, that the Word of our testimony does to help save people? What God given gift is conveyed through the sharing of our trials and triumphs? Would it be Hope? That its not the end? The reminder that God’s will prevails? That all things work to the good for those who love God(Rom. 8:28). He opens doors for us everyday to share about what he’s doing, it can be with anyone, that’s what makes it so great! And at any moment it may be your time to talk about it and give Him glory! I believe that when we tell a testimony and give God the glory for it all, we shine light on 2 qualities that He instills in us, as His children. One of them being Perseverance, that produces character, that then produces Hope (Rom. 5:4). The second one being Victory, which we’ve gained through Christ on the cross, he died for us, and Now we can celebrate!
Earlier this month I had the opportunity to give a testimony with a brother of mine in Christ at a coffee house. It was my first time in a looong time. When I was offered the chance I felt a peace about it, so I accepted the offer and right away gave it to the Lord. I said “It’s been awhile since I was behind a mic.. soo I’m not going to get all crazy, prepare something and get all nervous standing in front of everyone, it’s yours, I trust you.” So the night of the coffee house Jed and I both gave our testimonies in between bands and It just flowed (I knew the spirit of the Lord was moving). At the end of the show we stayed after to fellowship and talk with some people. I started talking with one of the bands and encouraging them on their performance and I was able to share a little more in depth about how God is moving in my life when I looked over and this one couple came up to Jed and started conversation and just inquiring about his past and really identifying. So I went over, and soon after they revealed that they have a son who had a similar past as ours and that he admitted himself into a Christ based drug rehab center. As we spoke I saw their eyes glowing with Hope from hearing about where we were at, and Now seeing where we are. I could see their Hope grow with every word as we were explaining that it wasn’t because of us or what we did, but because of God’s will for those who Love Him. Are you ready for that moment?
