While writing this post I had one direction I was going… about “Hope beyond Reason”, however I might save that for another time and place.
Instead, I want to sit with you for a minute or two and paint a picture.
What stifles Hope in your life?
Is it despair… worrying and the expectation that bad will happen instead of good?
Is it depression… seeing the negative as insurmountable giants?
Is it distraction… just being too busy with 1,000 important (or unimportant) things?
Is it fear… fear of failure or fear of other’s opinion of you if you dare to hope?
Reading so many of these great posts has made me consider this. Why don’t I hope… more? And just thinking about it for a moment has refreshed my perspective and given me new horizons. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the mundane – to put one foot in front of the other and forget the destination.
So what I encourage you to do is this. Write down your dream… your Hope. Put it in front of you – some place you’ll see it. You may see that hope fulfilled in a few days… or maybe a few decades. Either way, just seeing that slip of paper may very well be the reminder you need to approach each day with hope!
